Poïesis (the root of “poetry”) was orginally a verb – an action that transforms and continues the world. (source)

Have long been a fan of Santiago Calatrava, a Spanish architect/engineer/sculptor operating out of Switzerland.

Much of his work begins with metaphors of birds, bulls, violins and is then informed by pure engineering. It shouldn’t work as well as it does – or be as lovely.

Would’ve loved to have bought Heidegger a beer & gotten his take on the poesis of an industrial garage door that, when opening, “unfolding of a thing out of itself” evokes a bird in flight.
